Spontaneous worship may not be what it seems. It is not a person dropping down to their knees and throwing their hands up in the air to confess their sins to God. Spontaneous worship can be done by one and all in any type of setting. Sister Ruth Heflin had originated this form of worship at the Mount Zion Fellowship. The Lord had told her to sow the heavens in praise and worship and He in turn will sow it back to the earth. The easiest way to participate or even start a spontaneous worship session is through repetition. Some people in a worship congregation may not know all of the hymns or songs that are sung word for word. Through repetition in verses and choruses anyone can join into the spontaneous worship as they see fit.

When singing in repetition even if it is in various pitches each and every person that feels as if they want to join into the worship can. These worship sessions can come from songs or hymns that already exist or they can simply come from the heart. Making up a song to praise and worship God from the heart is one of the most heartfelt and truest ways to speak to Him and show Him the true colors of the congregation. Repetition throughout makes it that much easier for the entire congregation to follow suite. Spontaneous worship is meant to be unedited and soulful, a true worship from the soul.

On many occasions the worship may be a prophetic intercession or even often times a revelation. There are numerous times that more than one central Godly theme is woven in to a single spontaneous worship session. Through the repetitive nature of some of the worship it allows the worshiper ample time to meditate more deeply and feel closer to the Lord.
